ENG

The Pampas Plains, that mythical and fundamental continent to the great story of the Argentinean gene and its gaucho nobility. This has been part of the pedagogical doctrine of our schooled childhoods, despite the fact that it originated to set in motion the spectacle of a tradition in favour of the conqueror. On the other hand, the bodies of the malón (Native's offensive) have no names of their own and are drawn undefined in that open cemetery of earth, converted into a single determining power, their borders diffused, the John and Jane Does of history. Amaru observes this army of people from the edge of his own diffusion. He sings to those who preceded him, and from there he tells another version of the facts. In "Fe en La Mantis", the countryside and the road are always in constant resurrection: like the pagan saints at the side of the road, like the dead that light up the roadside, like the bugs that get caught on fire before the magnetism of a street lantern. Those who have no name, cry out their voice. What's dead lies alive, waiting for its turn to return. Resorting to polyphony and queer baroque, where the irrepressible desire for power proposes control, Amaru counter-proposes a coalition of twisted, screeching, carnival sounds. The guts on the asphalt get mixed, twisted and merry against an exhaust pipe. The cement gets painted in soft colours. Another new saint is born on the asphalt. To have faith is a joyful impulse for those who are silent.
